Earn PDUs using PMTestOnline
As of June 1st 2011 PMTestOnline is registered by BMC as an official study course with the Project Management Institute (PMI). This means that once you’re a paid subscriber you can use PMTestOnline to claim eleven (11) Professional Development Units (PDUs) on completing eleven hours of study on the system.

The claim process is simple. Check the number of hours study you’ve done using PMTestOnline using the “Top Scores” button. When you have eleven hours of study, simply email us at support@pmtestonline.com (or click on “Contact Us”, below) stating your user ID, and we’ll send you a digital certificate with a code for eleven PDUs. PDUs can be used towards the 35 you’ll need for elegibility for the PMP exam, or towards the 60 you’ll need to recertify in your three-year cycle once you’ve passed.

What’s happening to the PMP exam in August?
You may have heard that the PMP® examination will change on 31st August 2011 to match a modified syllabus. PMTestOnline and BMC have to be on top of the changes to provide you with the best possible service. So what exactly is changing?

Well first, these changes are a result of analysis by the Project Management Institute (PMI) as part of their continual improvement policy to make sure that those taking the exam are stringently - but fairly - tested on their knowledge, skills and abilities. The changes, as advised to us by the PMI, are mostly in the areas of professional and social responsibility, which will now have questions linked to each of the five process groups. The PMI will also retire obsolete questions and upgrade other ones to be more relevant and in-line with current project management knowledge and practices. It’ll affect about 30% of the exam – but note that it’s still a project management exam – so if you’ve done your homework and you know your job, you’ll do just fine.

Will there be a new PMBOK?
No. The PMI are now several years into the lifecycle of the most recent Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) version 4, and it’ll likely be a few years yet before there’s another one. So if you have the book, it’s still current reading material. If you’ve not got it yet, you’ll still need to buy and study it.

Is PMTestOnline changing its question sets ?
Yes, however its part of PMTestOnline’s policy in any case to continually upgrade the questions as well as the infotexts to give our subscribers the best possible learning experience. PMTestOnline is a study aid that uses artificial intelligence techniques to bring you up to speed using hundreds of questions remarkably similar to those you’ll experience when you take your PMP exam for real. So we cover project management beyond the PMBOK guide so you can tackle any tricky questions that may arise in the real exam.
